Our advice is to also schedule some time for children to play and the parents to discuss some of the teachable moments, conversation starters and important themes in the book. Children's literature can be laden with valuable takeaways especially if frames correctly. Children preparing for classroom work, the ISEE or SSAT reading comprehension section of the WISC must be used to discussing themes in passages.
